Transportation
Town Transport
So far, the city has two main bus stations: Quanzhou Passenger Station and Quanzhou New Station. Quanzhou Passenger Station mainly operates inter-provincial and intercity passenger transport with over long and short distances, and is the largest and the most modern bus station in Fujian province. Quanzhou New Station is an important transfer station for passenger transportation from busy counties and towns in the city center.
Public Transport: Buses
Public transport in Quanzhou is well developed in the city's downtown area and in its counties, including urban areas and suburbs, making it one of the main transport tools for citizens. In the city center, there are 56 bus routes covering the central area, urban areas and the main tourism places. The bus services run from 6 am to 10 pm, normally charging 1 to 2 yuan ($0.15-0.28) per person for a ticket on most routes. The starting and terminal stations are clearly shown at the front and back of each bus.
Public Transport: Taxis
There are many taxis available in the center of Quanzhou and in its counties, including the urban areas and suburbs. Taxi drivers offer great hospitality and provide receipts. The initial charge to take a taxi is six yuan for the first two km, while after that an extra 1.6 yuan will be added every kilometer, and on every trip there is an extra oil charge of two yuan. Every taxi is equipped with a taximeter to show customers how much they need to pay, but if your destination is far away, you will have to negotiate a price with the driver.
